Bridal Shower Games and Ideas

There are a number of terrific bridal shower theme ideas. We’ll look at 7 here.

The first theme is the pamper the bride theme. This way you can relieve all of the pre-wedding stress for the bride and her close friends. You should decorate the room with flowers, candles, potpourri, and other things that appeal to the sensual. The coordinator may suggest to the bridal shower guests that they give spa pampering gifts such as bubble bath, robes, and gift certificates to a spa. Favors could include a small basket of fancy soaps and potpourri. Have indulgent foods such as Quiche, truffles, and of course, champagne. If you can afford it, hire someone to come in and give chair massages through the party.

If the couple is about to move into their first new home together, the bridal shower theme could be “rooms of the home.” Each guest will be assigned a room of the home to provide a gift for. The bathroom guests might bring towels for instance.

An alternative to this theme is the “around the clock” party. In the around the clock party, each person is assigned an “hour” of the day and have to bring an appropriate gift. The 7:00 a.m. person might bring a coffee maker while the 10:00 p.m. could bring something for the bath.

Some couples are already living together or will be moving into an already established home. Instead of the “stock the pantry” theme, do a “stock the bar” theme. Guests can participate by giving gifts such as spirits, mixers, corkscrews, and condiments.

Original bridal shower planners might want to be ambitious and plan a grand theme. For instance, a Sherlock Holmes theme could involve amusements such as 20 questions: deduce the item in the box. High tea could be served for food and drink. And you could even stretch the theme and have the gifts revolve around “baking” after Holmes’ Baker Street.

A fun theme is the bridal shower honeymoon party. Guests can be timid and bring suntan lotion or a travel clock, or they can be more imaginative and wild.

This of course brings us to the lingerie party. This bridal shower idea, while tried and true, is always sure to be a lot of fun with the right crowd.

If you are planning a bridal shower for someone you care about, bringing friends together is the primary objective. The theme serves as the glue for the event, but it’s really the people that matter.

If the bride really needs household items to start her new life, it is appropriate to base the presents around her needs. If she’s already established in life, it may be more amusing to work with a theme. In either case, giving guests a direction for their gifts is always appreciated.
